Our Frankenbaby

Corey and I went for the second ultrasound this week. We went for an "ultrascreen" measures the nucal fold in order to screen for the possibilty of Down's Syndrome. This screen is commonly given to "older" pregnant moms because the risk of genetic defects becomes significantly higher after the mom turns 34 or 35ish. Anyway, according to medical science I am old.

Our baby's screen didn't show any cause for concern but they took my blood to test a few other things as well. We are not worried about the result.

During the ultrasound we could see that our little baby had grown so big! We could see it's HUGE cranium, just like it's Daddy's big head. That is why we called it Frankenbaby. We could also see it's adorable little hands and arms, eyes, nose and spine. The ultrasound was done externally on my belly. As the technician pushed on my belly she could stimulate the babies movement and it would turn around and move. The Frankenbaby! IT'S ALIVE!!!

That baby was soo cute performing for us, waving at us and stuff. The tech said, "Wow your baby is so playful"!

Which reminds me at our wedding I was coxed by my cousin to dance on top of the DJ's amps so after the wedding Corey's family was talking about how our baby is going to have so much energy that they will be swinging from the chandeliers, but it will have to wait until it's momma comes down off of it first! LOL
